Social Media Marketing 2010: Photos and Presentations

SMMUK10Thanks to everyone who joined us at Social Media Marketing 2010 yesterday at the Cavendish Conference Centre in London. We hope you found it a valuable day.

We’ve certainly had lots of feedback to focus on for the next one (in September). The three topics that we “crowdsourced” at the end of the day might well feature in our thinking… Thanks to Richard Sedley (cScape) for coming up with that one!

We have the full video footage of the day – so will be cutting that up over the weekend and posting it up next week.  All the presentations are now live on Slideshare and linked below, along with some useful posts and downloads:

Please add links to your blog posts etc. below. We”ll be doing a proper write up shortly – I for one am going to go and find the house I moved into two weeks ago and start unpacking boxes.  Hope my wife’s still there ;)

    Thanks for this – just forwarded around all at WPR. Have to say I thought the day was very well organised (though I was certainly ready for bed last night after information overload) and it was great to see some wonderful case studies and insights into the world of Social Media.

    I for one thought Viral Factory stole the show a little – but easy to do so when you have such ‘unique’ video material!

    It was a great day with some excellent presentations – and we took away a lot of useful information. The live Twitter commentary on the presentations also added a great interactive aspect – although it’s perhaps a good job that this wasn’t seen by all of the speakers!

    I was impressed by the consistent quality of speaker and content throughout the day – too many social media events at the moment tend to trot out the same old themes and case studies – I really did feel as though I learnt something yesterday.

    I thought the conference yesterday was excellent. It had a nice informal and friendly atmosphere. Although much of what was covered was “old ground”, it was a useful reminder of many things as well as a good confirmation of my viewpoint on many things….! So, thanks for that.

    Also, thanks for not making it a “pitch fest” – too many of these events are merely an excuse for so-called gurus to sell us their latest DVD series or their affiliate programme. This time we had people with real experience explaining useful stuff. The case histories were very useful as well.

    Looking forward to the next one.

    Thanks for a great, really informative day, with great networking.

    As someone who teaches small business owners (and generally sole traders) how to do it themselves (social media marketing that is!) I appreciated the different perspective the day gave me with the emphasis on larger businesses and brands (albeit still small businesses according to the SMB definition!).

    Looking forward to more events.

    Thanks to everyone for a great conference. It was great to see such a number of case studies as well as participation from the audience (and via Skype!). I agree with Darren that the live Twitter feed helps to make a conference more interactive

    This was my first social media event after years of affiliate marketing and I have to say I was very impressed and it really got me thinking about the Internet in a completely different way.

    I am a bit nervous about going to other events now though as a lot of people have said that the quality of this event was the exception rather than the rule!
